  I must really be old because I remember seeing that black and white commercial when it was actually being shown on broadcast TV.

    That ad came out in 1964. I’m not sure if that makes you old, Larry, but it does make you “vintage”.

  Mike, I agree I like being vintage rather than old. In the early 60’s a high school classmate of mine had a VW bug that he used to drive 50 miles round trip from home to school. He had no excuse to miss school because that bug really operated in the snow but he had to be sure he had a windshield scraper with him inside the car because the defrosters didn’t work for sh**. Also required were heavy winter outer clothes that you didn’t take off until you got inside where you were going.
