On this date in 1867, the Territory of Alaska was officially transferred from Russia over to the United States.

The State of Alaska will be closed on Monday; everyone will be in Sitka for a potluck.

Mike, What are you taking to the potluck?? Seeing you’re now a UW Alum you might want to consider a casserole made with bratwurst and a good five year old WI cheddar & a couple bottles of Spotted Cow for flavor. Oops–forgot–no Spotted Cow outside of the Badger State unless I take some to Knoxvegas. How about UNO– 4 straight wins on the road. The grand opening this weekend of their new arena should be big in the city Peyton Manning and Warren Buffett made famous.

I cooked up a nice badger hot dish that I’m going to bring, along with some Silver Bay IPA from Baranof Island Brewing. Should be a hit.

Yes, Tom is thrilled with UNO’s start. Should be a great opening series at the new rink against NoDak.
